Founded in Training Industry’s Training Manager Competency Model™, this certificate is completed over three four-and-a-half-hour sessions in a virtual instructor-led (VILT) classroom setting. Throughout that time, you’ll work with peers to apply AI in various activities and discuss how what you’ve learned can be applied in your own training processes.

The AI Essentials for Training Managers Certificate is ideal for training managers and aspiring training managers who are ready to leverage generative AI to streamline training development, optimize learning management system (LMS) reporting, enhance learner engagement and maximize learning outcomes. This program is designed for training managers at various levels of experience and offers a foundation in AI concepts with plenty of hands-on activities, allowing you to practice as you learn.

DOES THIS COURSE COVER TRAINING MY COMPANY’S WORFORCE IN THE USE OF AI?

This course was designed to develop the skills needed to leverage AI in corporate training processes. While it doesn’t specifically focus on how to upskill your workforce, you will explore possibilities for training your learners in the use of AI through several hands-on activities. You will also discover how to use AI for talent development and skills gap analysis on Day 3, Lesson 7. 

WHAT AI TOOLS WILL I BE USING?

This course is tool agnostic but will suggest several commonly used AI tools that you can work with throughout the course to practice. The Generative AI agents that you can choose to use for this course include: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Copilot. 

WILL THIS PROGRAM PREPARE ME AS AN INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER?

This certificate imparts the competencies and knowledge needed to manage the application of AI tools to the development of corporate training. While instructional design processes are covered, this course is not intended for individuals who aspire to work in instructional design. Instead, it will cover the how to query generative AI platforms in your development processes offering the guidance that the leader of a training team would need to know in order to ensure those processes are optimized for the most effective outcomes. 

ARE THERE ANY PREREQUISITES FOR COMPLETING THIS CERTIFICATE?

There are no prerequisites to register, making this certificate ideal for anyone seeking to better understand how to integrate AI tools for L&D for optimized training programs.

Before the program, you will receive access to all digital materials, including your prework assignment as well as the student workbook that you will use during the course.
