RALEIGH, N.C. — May 23, 2024 — Training Industry, Inc., is thrilled to announce its latest “Special Report: L&D Career and Salary Study.” This comprehensive research effort, compiled from survey results of hundreds of learning professionals, examines the career needs and salary benchmarks of training professionals across various organizations and industries, offering insights essential for guiding your career path and compensation factors in the field.
“Understanding the diverse backgrounds and career aspirations of training professionals is crucial for advancing the field. We are thrilled to share this in-depth analysis of the L&D career landscape to provide actionable insights to help L&D professionals achieve their career goals and enhance their impact on business outcomes,” says Amy DuVernet, Ph.D., CPTM, director of training manager development at Training Industry and co-author of the report.
Several key insights were revealed in this study. Notably, the research showed that salary didn’t impact job satisfaction, whereas having a company allocated budget for professional development significantly influenced job satisfaction among learning professionals. This suggests that individuals in the L&D field prioritize self-improvement and favor employers who facilitate their growth. Additionally, the study revealed that the highest-paid learning professionals shared certain characteristics, notably an expertise of the Training Manager Competency Model™.
“This report provides a salary benchmark for training professionals to know their worth, as well as a roadmap to understand what it takes to reach their career goals. Training professionals want to be more than order takers; they want a seat at the table. This report highlights the skills, credentials and behaviors that will get them there,” says Alyssa Kaszycki, learning product manager at Training Industry and co-author of the report.
